ULI Southeast Florida

ULI Southeast Florida names Grove Central as a finalist for 2025's Vision Awards Project of the Year

2025 Project of the Year Finalist: Grove Central

One of ULI’s guiding principles is that achievement of excellence in land use practice should be recognized and rewarded. Through the annual Vision Awards, ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean recognizes the top leaders and best projects in our local region – those that exemplify ULI’s commitment to responsibility in land use and development. These honorees are the people and projects setting the standards for our industry, improving our communities, and guiding our future.

About the project

Grove Central is a transformative, transit-oriented development by Terra and Grass River that has redefined the commercial and residential landscape of Coconut Grove. Strategically positioned at the intersection of US1 and SW 27th Avenue, the project combines a multi-modal transit hub with a 23-story residential tower featuring 402 multifamily and workforce housing units, a 1,250-space public parking garage, 170,000 square feet of retail, and a series of public realm improvements. What was once a vacant lot adjacent to the Coconut Grove Metrorail station has become a national model for smart growth – merging density, walkability, transit access, and activated street-level retail in a vertically integrated development that prioritizes resilience and community connection.
