Courtyard House

This house was inspired by the area’s tropical hammock and the neighboring bay. The house transitions from two engaged, stone-clad volumes on the street to a primarily crystalline facade on the waterfront.

Hibiscus Island Residence I was envisioned as a modern Miami Beach translation of a Hôtel Particulier, or a French urban mansion, which drawing from these historic sources and reimagining them for Miami Beach’s tropical aesthetic and climate.
