Entre Las Palmas presents
Memory, Materials, & Magic
What we can learn from the Tropicana and the work of Cuban modernists, and why it matters
Entre Las Palmas, our tertulia series, revives a centuries-old tradition born in Spain and carried across the Americas, where a small circle of creatives, thinkers, and friends gathered around to discuss ideas worth lingering on. These are evenings of cultural and intellectual exchange, often accompanied by music, poetry, or film, and shaped as much by the participants as the topic itself.
On May 15,Touzet Studio is honored to host Rosa Lowinger, a conservator and the author of Tropicana Nights and Dwell Time, for an evening titled, “Memory, Materials & Magic: What we can learn from the Tropicana and the work of Cuban modernists, and why it matters.”
We are bringing together a small group of voices across the arts, architecture, and cultural institutions for an enriching evening discussion.
Although this event is by invitation only, our series will be recorded and archives from the night shared for wider audiences.
