Dwell | Resilient Beachside Residence

Dwell Magazine's feature of Cay Cay Residence highlights the climate resilient features of this project. Touzet Studio designed this home with sustainability enrgy usage in mind: large shady porches, volume ceilings, smart window placements, and an open-air breezeway. The inclusion of large floor-to-ceiling, energy-efficient windows reduce the need for artificial light. Likewise, the design for Cat Cay Residence includes a system for rainwater harvesting, complete with large cisterns below the home and gutters on all the roofs; grey water is also recycled for irrigation, plumbing, and other non-potable uses.
